Summary

Stone points are often assumed to be projectiles, on the basis of morphological or morphometric arguments, but their reliable identification requires a functional approach. The goal of the proposed project is to improve insight on the evolution of hunting technology by focusing on the role of convergent tool components in Middle Palaeolithic assemblages in Western Europe and Middle Stone Age assemblages in Africa.
